1 min readDifficulty: Beginner

Scrunchies are the perfect project for fabric scraps – and a quick little gift.
You will need
- 1 fabric strip 55 × 10 cm (muslin, velvet, silk or cotton)
- 1 piece of 6 mm elastic, 20 cm long
- Matching thread, safety pin
Instructions
- Fold the strip lengthwise right sides together and sew the long edge with a 1 cm seam allowance. Leave approx. 5 cm open at the end.
- Turn the tube right side out.
- Thread the elastic through with the safety pin, overlap the ends by 2 cm and sew securely.
- Tuck one fabric end into the other, fold the seam allowance in and topstitch closed.
Tip: Silk scraps make scrunchies that are especially kind to your hair.
